Classy mare Solicit is set to return to racing later this month at Rosehill Gardens in the Expressway Stakes 2016 according to her local trainer Gerald Ryan.
The five-year-old daughter of Street Cry was last seen posting her sixth win at her twenty-sixth career start back in mid-November with a runaway 4.25 length win in the Group 3 Summoned Stakes (1500m).
It was an improved effort back in Sydney after a two-start Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival raid that saw her finish second in the Group 2 Tristarc Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield before an eighth when under three lengths off the winner Politeness in Flemingtonâs Group 1 Myer Classic (1600m) over the mile on Victoria Derby Day.
Ryan has Solicit back in training after her brief post Summoned Stakes-win stint in the paddock and has the $200,000 Group 2 Expressway Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on January 30 scheduled as her first-up run.
Last yearâs Expressway Stakes winner was the Chris Waller-trained Weary who backed up to run third behind Contributer in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick a fortnight later, another race Ryan is considering for Solicit this coming campaign.
Solicit enjoyed two elite level placings during her three-year-old season when third to Kirramosa in the 2013 Crown Oaks over 2500m at Flemington and second to Lucia Valentina in the 2014 Vinery Stud Stakes over 2000m in April.
Ryan is hoping to get her back in Group 1 form again during the autumn with a possible shot at the $1 million Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) at Randwick in April during The Championships.
She contested the race in 2014 but failed to beat home any of her rivals when ninth beaten over 21 lengths behind Diamond Drille.
In the meantime Ryanâs focus is on Queenslandâs Gold Coast Magic Millions Race Day this Saturday.
He is without representation in the meetingâs two feature races, the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) and the $2 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m), but still saddles-up livewire hopes in a couple of the dayâs major support events.
His now four-year-old Queensland Guineas runner-up Bachman, coming off a win in the Listed Goldmarket Handicap (1300m) at the track on Boxing Day, shoots for his third straight victory as a lightweight chance in the $1 million Magic Millions Cup (1400m).
Six-year-old mare Peace Force meanwhile will avoid a clash with her stablemate in the Cup and take on her own kind in the $1 million Magic Millions Fillies & Mares Handicap (1300m).
Saturday is Peace Forceâs first run since a third in the Listed Festival Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill in late November, but Ryan is confident she is fit and ready to fire despite a seven week break between races.
